Suvaani (“we”, “us”) is a Bhojpuri-language assistant that helps people find government job vacancies (सरकारी नौकरी) they are eligible for, and reminds them before application deadlines close. You use it by sending messages on WhatsApp.

This policy explains exactly what we store, what we do not, who else sees it, and how to have it deleted. It is written to be specific rather than generic — every item below reflects what the service actually does.

Who we are

Suvaani is operated by Arun Kumar, an individual based in India, as an independent service. For any privacy question or request — including asking what we hold, having it corrected, or having it deleted — contact privacy@suvaani.com. We reply to every message.

What we collect

Only what the service needs to match you to vacancies and alert you before deadlines. We collect nothing until you message us first.

WhatWhyWhere it comes from
Your WhatsApp phone numberTo know which conversation is yours and to send you replies and alertsProvided by WhatsApp when you message us
Age, qualification, districtTo match you to vacancies you actually qualify forRead from what you tell us in the chat
Message contentTo understand your question and answer itYour messages, text or voice
Which alerts we sent youSo we don’t send the same deadline reminder twiceGenerated by us
Technical logsTo see whether the service is working and how fast it repliesGenerated by us: time, message type, topic, response time — not the text of your messages

Voice notes

If you send a voice note, it is transcribed to text on our own server so we can answer it. We delete the audio file once the reply is sent — unless you have joined the improvement programme described below, which is optional, off by default, and which you have to say yes to before anything is kept.

What we never collect

We do not ask for and do not store your name, email address, Aadhaar or any government ID number, bank or payment details, photographs, your contact list, or your precise location. We only know the district if you tell us.

Where your data is processed

This is the part most services are vague about, so we will be direct.

Speech recognition and answer generation run on our own servers in India (Google Cloud, Mumbai region). Your messages and voice notes are not sent to any third-party artificial-intelligence service.

Two narrow exceptions, both limited to the specific question you asked, and neither of which receives your phone number:

Job-matching, eligibility checks and deadline alerts involve no third party at all — they run entirely on our own data.

Helping us improve the assistant — optional

Suvaani is new, and it is one of very few assistants that tries to understand भोजपुरी speech. It still mishears people. The only way to fix that is to study real conversations where it went wrong — aggregate statistics cannot tell us which word it got wrong, or whether the voice we sent back sounded natural.

So we run a small, entirely optional improvement programme. You are not in it unless you say yes.

How you join, and how you leave

After you have used Suvaani a few times, we will ask you once, on WhatsApp, in भोजपुरी. Reply "हाँ" to join or "ना" to decline. We ask only once — if you say no, or ignore it, we will not ask again.

To leave at any time, message "रिकॉर्डिंग बंद करीं". We stop immediately and delete everything already kept. You do not have to give a reason.

What is kept, if you say yes

What it is used for, and what it is never used for

Used only to measure and improve how well Suvaani hears Bhojpuri, answers in Bhojpuri, and speaks it back. Never to identify you, never to advertise to you, never sold, never shared with employers or recruiters, and never used to make any decision about you.

How it is stored

Recordings are stored in India (Google Cloud, Mumbai region), separately from everything else, and are filed under a random code rather than your phone number. The link between that code and your number is held in one small file, so removing you is a single step.

How long

Recordings are deleted 90 days after they are made, automatically, whether or not we have finished the work. Leaving the programme, or asking for your data to be deleted, removes them immediately.

Who is not asked

We only ask people who have told us they are 18 or over. If we do not know your age, we do not ask, and we do not record.

Saying no costs you nothing. Every part of the service — job matching, deadline alerts, letters, everything — works exactly the same whether you join or not. We will never ask you twice, and we will never make any feature depend on it.

Who else can see your data

We do not sell your data, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not give it to employers or recruiters.

How long we keep it

We keep your profile while you are using the service, so that alerts stay relevant. If you do not message us for 12 months, we delete your profile and your alert history. Technical logs are kept for up to 12 months. If you ask us to delete your data sooner, we do.

If you joined the improvement programme, recordings are deleted 90 days after they are made — sooner than everything else, and automatically.

How to delete your data

Message us on WhatsApp with “हमार जानकारी मिटा दीं” (“delete my information”), or email privacy@suvaani.com from any address, telling us the phone number you used.

We delete your profile, your alert history and your phone number from our systems within 30 days and confirm when it is done. There is no charge and you do not have to give a reason.

This includes any recordings held under the improvement programme. Recordings are kept as separate files under a random code, never merged into anything we cannot take them out of again, so erasing you really does erase them.

Deleting your data ends the service for you: we will no longer know your eligibility, so you will stop receiving deadline alerts. You can start again any time by messaging us.

Your rights

Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may:

Grievance Officer

Arun Kumar
Email: privacy@suvaani.com
We respond to grievances within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

Consent

By messaging Suvaani you consent to what is described here. Messaging us is the only way the service starts — we never message you first unless you have contacted us, and you can stop it at any time by asking us to.

The improvement programme above is separate and additional. It is not covered by the consent in this paragraph, it requires you to say yes explicitly, and you can withdraw it on its own without affecting anything else. No part of the service depends on it.

Age

Suvaani is intended for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly build profiles for children. If you believe a child’s data has been given to us, contact privacy@suvaani.com and we will delete it.

Security

Your data sits on access-controlled servers and is transmitted over encrypted connections. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep deliberately little: no identity documents, no financial details, and no message text in our logs.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your data in a way that affects you, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Significant changes will be announced in the chat.
